New concept art and official logo for Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur

Do you feel that little bit of emptiness inside now that we are nearing the end of the year? That’s due to Pixar not releasing a movie in 2014, true story. It’s been almost ten years since the last time that happened; this year’s absence of a movie is because the studio changed the director of THE GOOD DINOSAUR, not to mention they also "completely reimagined" the movie. So you can see why that might eat up some time on the project. It will finally be released next fall and to remind us of the anticipation we a new piece of concept art as well as the official logo.

Here’s the official synopsis in case you missed it:

The Good Dinosaur asks the generations-old question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct?  In theaters November 25, 2015, the film is a humorous and exciting original story about Arlo, a lively Apatosaurus with a big heart.  After a traumatic event unsettles Arlo’s family, he sets out on a remarkable journey, gaining an unlikely companion along the way – a human boy.  “The Good Dinosaur” is an extraordinary journey of self-discovery full of thrilling adventure, hilarious characters and poignant heart.

It’s an interesting concept that’s for sure; and it’s nice to see Pixar step away from sequels, albeit for for 2015 anyways. INSIDE OUT is up first on June 19, 2015 followed by THE GOOD DINOSAUR on November 25, 2015. Peter Sohn, who wrote and directed the Pixar short PARTLY CLOUDY, has stepped into the director’s chair alongside a great cast that includes Bill Hader, Neil Patrick Harris, Frances McDormand, John Lithgow, and Judy Greer.
