The more we see from Guillem Morales’ JULIA’S EYES (LOS OJOS DE JULIA), the more we’re inclined to pimp the bastard. Not only has Guillermo del Toro lent his faith in Morales’ sophomore outing, all of the footage, photos and writing about the flick reinforce it as taut thriller that warrants our attention. So here’s a question for ya: does the cheap, 80s slasher-style new one-sheet for the film (seen below, both domestically and internationally) benefit or disservice the prestige of the film? Take a look and make the call…
Set to screen next at Sitges on October 7th – LOS OJOS DE JULIA is the terrifying odyssey of a woman (Belén Rueda, below) suffering from a degenerative eye disease who is obsessed with finding out the truth behind her twin sister’s death.
Francesc Orella, Joan Dalmau, Boris Ruiz, Daniel Grao, Clara Segura, Andrea Hermosa, Lluis Homar and Julia Gutierrez Caba also take part in the picture.
JULIA’S EYES opens in Spain October 29th, France November 17th.
