New, epic trailer released for Professor Marston and the Wonder Women

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Suffering Sappho! Ever since I found out about the real-life inspiration for Wonder Woman and her creator William Marston, I thought it would make a fascinating movie. Looks like I wasn’t the only one who thought so! The story deals with issues of upending social norms, fighting for artistic integrity and social justice, and creating an icon. Any one of those things could fill an entire biopic, and this one has it all.

However, while I love the idea and the actors (and coming out so soon after the groundbreaking success of the WONDER WOMAN film was a stroke of genius), I am a bit worried about the movie itself. Though, to be fair, it could just be the overly-bombastic trailer score the movie is saddled with…makes it look probably cheesier and schmaltzier than it really is. I’ll still give it a chance for sure.

Anyway, here’s the official synopsis:

The unconventional life story of Dr. William Marston, Harvard psychologist and inventor, and the relationship between his wife and his lover, who became her lover after his death, that inspired the iconic super heroine Wonder Woman.

Meanwhile, PROFESSOR MARSTON AND THE WONDER WOMEN will tie up theaters October 13th.
