For some reason, New Line Cinema is having a helluva time sticking with a title for their fourth FINAL DESTINATION entry. First it was simply FINAL DESTINATION 4, then they switched it up to something more elaborate with FINAL DESTINATION: DEATH TRIP 3D, and now it’s changed for the third, and presumably, final time. The new title is… drumroll please… THE FINAL DESTINATION!
Now how’s about that for anti-climatic? I can’t tell if they’re shortening the title to be more like FAST & FURIOUS and just slightly tweak the original name, or if there’s some sort of double meaning here, as if this is the final destination of the FINAL DESTINATION series.
Whatever they were thinking, I like it. DEATH TRIP 3D was too long and too different from the previous 3 movies (in terms of title), and adding that THE makes it seem like not only is this the last one, but it’s the best one as well. And if it is, then SCORE! I’m so there!
