Well folks, we got a press release today involving something pretty exciting. FEARNet are planning to ring in this new year with all the horror we can handle!
The fun starts on December 26, with a Best 7 of 07 series that will play once a day until December 31. The series will feature themed video compilations of FEARnet’s best footage gathered from interviews with such popular celebrities as Paris Hilton, Pam Anderson, Rob Zombie, Rosario Dawson, Jessica Alba, Robert Downey Jr., Heath Ledger, Josh Hartnett, Milla Jovovich, Peter Fonda, David Arquette and Tim Burton.
Good deal. The episodes in the series are called: “What’s Your Biggest Fear?”, “FEARnet Shout-outs”, “FEARnet Interview Moments”, “Hottest Horror Hunks” “Sexiest Scream Queens” and “the top Horror Movies of 2007.” Sounds like a blast to me. They even pointed out a few of the more interesting moments:
-Paris Hilton discussing her fear of global warming…and spiders.
-Renowned director Tim Burton providing insight into his petrifaction of family functions.
-Heath Ledger spilling the beans on the new Batman film.
-David Arquette mistaking a press event for a costume party
Best 7 of 07 is only a segway to the real action. The main selling point for this scream-filled week is that on New Year’s Day, FEARnet will be running a 10-movie marathon with horror films picked out by… us! It will be a Top 10 countdown where the fans decide which horror films kicked the most ass. The marathon will start at 10 AM on January 1, 2008. There’s a list of 25 films you can choose from over at FEARNet. (Note: You have to sign up to vote.) It’s a very interesting list to say the least. From classics such as HAUTE TENSION and WISHMASTER to lesser known gems like CATACOMBS and SILENT SCREAM, to downright horrible films like CUBE 2. So as you can tell by my examples, there’s a wide variety of stuff, so we’re sure to be in for a great New Year’s Day!
That isn’t all either. Coupled with all this, FEARNet has some more stuff planned. If you vote, you’ll automatically be entered for a chance to win movie tickets for a year. Along with this, every hour a code will be put up on the screen that could be your chance to win a year’s worth of tickets. And if you have a video camera and want to have some fun, FEARNet is allowing us all the chance to upload videos of ourselves introducing our favorite films from the list, with the chance for said videos to be played before the films!
So starting December 26, FEARNet will start running a daily series called Best 7 of 07 that will end on December 31. The very next day, starting at 10 AM, a Top 10 horror movie marathon will begin. What a way to kick off the new year!
