New Godzilla: King of the Monsters TV spot teases seventeen monsters

In addition to Godzilla, we already know that the upcoming GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS will include Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah, but the latest TV spot for the Michael Dougherty film teases many more. In between some fantastic shots of monster-related mayhem and destruction, Dr. Mark Russell (Kyle Chandler) wonders how many of the giant Titans there are, and Dr. Ishiro Serizawa (Ken Watanabe) responds that there are "seventeen, and counting." Damn. While visiting the set of GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS, our own Eric Walkuski noticed a display which revealed vague outlines and code-names of other Titans, including "Baphomet," "Typhoon," "Abaddon," "Bunyip," "Methuselah," and, of course, "Kong." Whether we actually see these Titans in the flesh remains to be seen.

The official synopsis for GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS:

The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.

GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS will hit theaters on May 31, 2019.
