New Gretel & Hansel poster has a bad hair day

What do you get when you combine IT and IT: CHAPTER TWO star Sophia Lillis and THE BLACKCOAT'S DAUGHTER and I AM THE PRETTY THING THAT LIVES IN THE HOUSE writer-director, Osgood Perkins? Well, Orion Pictures' upcoming GRETEL & HANSEL is what. And today we have a new teaser poster for the film, which teases a "grim" fairy tale.

You can go ahead and peep the poster below and then make sure to hit us up and let us know what you think.

Now while the idea of yet another reboot of the classic fairy tale wouldn't get me excited from the word go, the fact that this version is helmed by Perkins is all I need to buy my ticket. Sure, I didn't – by any means – love Perkins' I AM THE PRETTY THING THAT LIVES IN THE HOUSE but THE BLACKCOAT'S DAUGHTER is one of my recent favorites. A must-see! How excited YOU are for Perkins' new film? Let us know below!

The dark reimagining of the classic fairytale we know and love begins:

A long time ago in a distant fairytale countryside, a young girl (Sophia Lillis, It) leads her little brother (Sammy Leakey) into a dark wood in desperate search of food and work, only to stumble upon a nexus of terrifying evil.

The film also stars Sammy Leakey, Alice Krige (THE OA, STAR TREK: FIRST CONTACT), Jessica De Gouw (UNDERGROUND, ARROW) and Charles Babalola (BLACK MIRROR, THE LEGEND OF TARZAN). Osgood Perkins directs the film from a screenplay written by Rob Hayes (CHEWING GUM). Brian Kavanaugh-Jones (SINISTER, UPGRADE) produces along with Fred Berger (LA LA LAND, DESTROYER) on behalf of Automatik. Sandra Yee Ling and Macdara Kelleher serve as the movie's executive producers. GRETEL & HANSEL hits on January 31, 2020
