Oh man, here we go.
Now, I know Anchor Bay cares about horror and its fans. They’ve shown in the past with countless gems of DVD sets for films like EVIL DEAD, DAWN OF THE DEAD and, of course, HALLOWEEN, which brings me to what this item is about.
According to DavisDVD, Anchor Bay is planning yet another release aimed at Michael Myers, this time in the form of another documentary. HALLOWEEN: 25 Years of Terror will be available July 25th, and will be ‘the most comprehensive and official documentary on the HALLOWEEN films ever produced’. Okay, so what’s that entitle? Narrated by P.J. Soles, the documentary will chronicle the longevity of the films over the past 25 years, and features over 80 interviews with actors and crew members from the entire franchise, as well as fans and critics (Including our very own
Arrow aka John Fallon). Also featured are never-before-seen behind-the-scenes clips, rare photos, alternate footage, original artwork, music and footage from the fan-organized Halloween Returns To Haddonfield 25th Anniversary Convention. All this can be yours for a measly $19.99.
Don’t get me wrong, folks. I love Anchor Bay and what they’ve done with these films, even going so far as to give us everything and the kitchen sink when it comes to supplements. But when is too much too much? I mean, the 25th Anniversary DVD for HALLOWEEN that was released a couple years back had everything and more with regards to Carpenter’s classic. At what point is the filler going to start to ooze through and ruin everything? Hopefully Anchor Bay will reveal some more on this one, as well as the rumoured EVIL DEAD DVD that we covered a while back.
