Alright… so what the hell is going on with HELLRAISER? We’ve heard that mainstay genre writers Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton were working on a script and that the INSIDE duo of Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo will not be directing. Hell even Darren Lynn Bousman’s name has been tossed around as a potential canidate to direct this remake.
Well today the guys over at Bloody Disgusting have decided to share the news with us that not only is Darren Lynn Bousman not in talks to direct HELLRAISER, but that Pascal Laugier is! Your asking yourself who the hell Pascal Laugier is, right? Well Laugier is the guy that directed the gorefest MARTYRS, which The Arrow recently gave a very positive review to right over here.
So MARTYRS has been getting some very positive buzz all over the place, so this could only be good news right? B-D also report that the draft Dunstan and Melton had penned is going to be thrown right out the window. The Weinstein Company are hard at work looking for a new scribe to pen a draft of the adaptation.
So we’ve got two writers no longer on the project and one director in talks. Man this movie is in some kind of development hell huh? A development hell all on it’s own. Mind you, Mr. Laugier is not signed onto the project, he’s only in talks for now. As soon as we hear more we’ll update you all.
