A number of new pics from Joe Dane’s THE HOLE surfaced online today as the film is getting ready to pimp itself out at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival in just over 2 weeks. The new pics don’t reveal a whole lot, but they do feature a number of cast members, and of course Dante himself.
With THE HOLE (which is in 3-D) swooping up on release so soon, I’m surprised we haven’t seen more from the flick. Not one trailer has been released, and the still you’ve seen so far are about as good as what you see here. I guess they’re really going for a surprise, and in a way, I respect that!
As a recap, THE HOLE is family-friendly 3D thriller that
explores the fears and secrets buried deep within the human mind. After
moving into a new neighborhood, brothers Dane & Lucas and their neighbor
Julie discover a bottomless hole in the basement of their home. They find
that once the hole is exposed, evil is unleashed. With strange shadows
lurking around every corner and nightmares coming to life, they are forced
to come face to face with their darkest fears to put an end to the mystery
of THE HOLE.
Wait a f*cking minute! What’s this ‘family-friendly 3D thriller’ bullshit? Family-friendly? Why the hell haven’t I heard of this before? And here I thought this was gonna be some hardcore 3D horror. And now we learn it’s family-friendly. I’m flabbergasted, ashamed, and not-amused. Now I get why all these new pics feature a bunch of kids. What a pile of horse poop.
