I give all the respect in the world to Warner Bros. for leaving the ‘BY THE COWARD ROBERT FORD’ in the title for their movie below. It could have just as easily been ‘THE ASSASSINATION OF JESSE JAMES’ but that wouldn’t have been nearly as cool. But instead, they had the balls to name their movie this: THE ASSASSINATION OF JESSE JAMES BY THE COWARD ROBERT FORD. Wow.
It’s taken a while for this movie to come out due to some reshoots, but it’s finally upon us and I doubt reshoots are a cause for concern. This movie is part of a trilogy of Westerns coming out this fall, with 3:10 TO YUMA and NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN being the others. The man behind the camera is Andrew Dominik, responsible for the disturbing movie CHOPPER (which launched Eric Bana’s career) and as you can see from the poster BELOW, the man in front of the camera is God himself. Okay, maybe he’s not God himself, but he’s still a god, and that’s still pretty good.
