Back in June we learned that New Line Cinema had made its first acquisition in eight years when they picked up Blumhouse's SUPERSTITION, a micro-budget horror tale from directors Travis Cluff and Chris Lofing. Now New Line has given the film a new title, GALLOWS, and has slapped the flick with a July 10, 2015 release date, according to Variety.

The project grew out of directors Chris Lofing and Travis Cluff posting footage on YouTube. Film 360 discovered the project and teamed with micro-budget icon Jason Blum to produce. While we don't know much in terms of plot, we do know that GALLOWS will be set in high school and be in the same vein as I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER, except this one is going to have some found-footage elements to it.

I'm just hoping that GALLOWS isn't some watered-down PG-13 shite. The high school setting has me worried.

We'll be sure to bring you more on GALLOWS as we hear it. I'm sure we'll be seeing a trailer for this one soon enough.
