First up, the official word has come down the line. Rob Zombie’s HALLOWEEN 2 is rated R (duh!), but now we have all the reasons why: strong brutal bloody violence throughout, terror, disturbing graphic images, language, and some crude sexual content and nudity.
So pretty much, H2 is gonna rock that R rating as hard as humanly possible. Awesome. It doesn’t get any better than that!
ZOMBIELAND also scored its official R rating for zombie horror violence/gore and language. That’s right, the phrase ‘zombie violence/gore’ has now officially been used in a rating description by the MPAA. Wow. I’m impressed. I guess they gotta point out that all the violence is towards those of the undead… because then it’s ok? Not really sure. But good to know. A movie called ZOMBIELAND will have zombie violence and gore.
And finally, the sci-fi/action/thriller SURROGATES came through with a PG-13 rating for intense sequences of violence, disturbing images, language, sexuality and a drug-related scene. All those reasons, once again, sound like the perfect reason for an R rated movie, though I’m not sure about PG-13. Intense violence (not action), disturbing images, swearing, sex, and drugs sounds like a good time to me!
So there you have it. 2 R ratings and 1 PG-13. Not bad… not bad at all. H2 hits theaters August 28th, ZOMBIELAND premieres October 9th, and SURROGATES lands everywhere September 25th.
SURROGATES’ star Rosamund Pike!
