ComingSoon reports today that the vampire comic to screen adaptation of Steven Niles’ 30 DAYS OF NIGHT has landed an October release date- in 2007!
To be directed by David Slade, he who brought us
HARD CANDY, NIGHT’s crazy ass imagery and all out scariness will definately add to
next fall’s horror season, when it’s released wide October 19th from Columbia and Ghost House Pictures.
If you’re a bit rusty on your NIGHT knowledge, here’s a quick refresher:The horror film centers on a sleepy, secluded Alaska town called Barrow where the sun sets and doesn’t rise for over thirty consecutive days and nights. From the darkness, across the frozen wasteland, an evil will come that will bring the residents of Barrow to their knees. The only hope for the town is the Sheriff and Deputy, a husband and wife who are torn between their own survival and saving the town they love.
Did I say quick? I meant kinda long. Oh well. Now you know. As far as I know, this is the first horror movie slated for October 2007, but I’ll tell you one thing… it sure as shit won’t be the last!
