With the deranged “Dexter” returning to the small screen this Sunday (Sept. 26th), Showtime is doing their best to make damn certain we all tune the f*ck in. Their latest effort? A fresh one-sheet featuring good ol’ Dexy carrying a female victim decked in virginal white, with blood leaking from mouth. The tagline? “Who washes his hands with blood…will have to wash them with tears.” Scope it below!
Of course, the tagline plays into Dexter struggling with his guilty conscience, a motif that seems to be more of a focal point this season than ever before.
In Season Five Dexter has to get in touch with things he never felt before: guilt, sorrow, self-forgiveness. There is blowback from his reckless behavior. He has blood on his hands and an appetite for vengeance that can’t be quenched.
Newly added to the season 5 cast are Julia Stiles (below), Shawn Hatosy, Peter Weller, Chris Vance, Johnny Lee Miller, Maria Doyle Kennedy and April Lee Hernandez. Here’s a preliminary episode listing for the upcoming season:
