A new synopsis for Ridley Scott’s PROMETHEUS has been uncovered, on the film’s official Facebook page, and while they’re still playing coy with the details, it’s interesting to see a few new nuggets of information (no matter how small the nuggets). Read on!
Ridley Scott, director of “Alien” and “Blade Runner,” returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.
Combine that with the previous official synopsis that Fox had been dishing out:
Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott returns to the genre he helped define, creating an original science fiction epic set in the most dangerous corners of the universe. The film takes a team of scientists and explorers on a thrilling journey that will test their physical and mental limits and strand them on a distant world, where they will discover the answers to our most profound questions and to life’s ultimate mystery.
Obviously, we still know very little about PROMETHEUS – and perhaps that’s not a bad thing. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t dying to see some official press material from the film, however.
PROMETHEUS stars Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Guy Pearce, Ben Foster, Logan Marshall-Green and Patrick Wilson. It opens on JUNE 8, 2012.
