New Scream movie promo: Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, & more on shocking sequel

We’re just two months out from the January 14, 2022 theatrical release of the new Scream movie… which, despite only being titled Scream, is not a remake. It’s a follow-up to the four previous Scream movies, as you can see from the fact that franchise stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette are back in the roles of Sidney Prescott, Gale Weathers, and Dewey Riley. Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media Group have released a new Scream movie promo featurette, which you can check out in the embed above, and those returning stars are in it to discuss the new film, along with executive producer Kevin Williamson and franchise newcomers Melissa Barrera, Dylan Minnette, Jack Quaid, and Jasmin Savoy Brown.

Cox says the new Scream is “shocking”, and that Ghostface is as “scary as ever”. The most shocking thing in this promo to me is that shot of Sidney pushing a stroller. Is she a mom now?

The new Scream is coming to us from Ready or Not (watch it HERE) directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. The screenplay was written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick. Vanderbilt also produced the film for Project X Entertainment, alongside Paul Neinstein and William Sherak. Chad Villella, Gary Barber, Peter Oillataguerre, Ron Lynch, Cathy Konrad, and Marianne Maddalena serve as executive producers alongside Williamson. You can read our set visit interview with the directors at THIS LINK.

The new Scream has the following synopsis:

Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer has donned the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past.

The actors mentioned above are joined in the cast by Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Kyle Gallner, Sonia Ammar, Jenna Ortega, and Scream 4‘s Marley Shelton. You can read our set visit interview with cast members HERE.
