New Scream movie gets a tie-in TikTok account

If you’re a super-fan of the Scream franchise, you may be glad to hear that the new Scream movie has gotten a tie-in TikTok account where two characters (Ash and Sarah) who live in the world of the franchise are investigating a mystery that we won’t get the answer to until the new movie reaches theatres on January 14, 2022. They discuss movies, characters from the new Scream, and even received a picture of Ghostface making his way around the town of Woodsboro. If you want to watch their investigation, head over to tiktok.com/@toobrashsarah

This type of marketing really isn’t for me, but I’m sure some fans will get enjoyment out of it.

The new Scream is a “legacy-quel” that is indeed simply being called Scream even though it’s a follow-up to the previous four movies. It’s coming to us from Ready or Not (watch it HERE) directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. The screenplay was written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick. Vanderbilt also produced the film for Project X Entertainment, alongside Paul Neinstein and William Sherak. Chad Villella, Gary Barber, Peter Oillataguerre, Ron Lynch, Cathy Konrad, and Marianne Maddalena serve as executive producers alongside original Scream writer Kevin Williamson.

The film has the following synopsis:

Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer has donned the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past.
