New Sinister Six concept art and development stages tease a villain’s return

If you like your villain-filled movies, the Spider-Man spinoff THE SINISTER SIX will most defiantly intrigue you. Now that THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 3 has been pushed to 2018, THE SINISTER SIX is set to be the next entry in the franchise to try and rejuvenate a pretty tired superhero. A new featurette included on the Target exclusive edition of THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 offers a short first look at THE SINISTER SIX in the form of concept art and interesting video editing. That reminds me, don’t you hate store exclusives?

*Spoilers if you haven’t seen THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2*

As you saw, most of the video is just footage from already released movies, but it also includes footage from Sam Raimi’s trilogy. Villains like Green Goblin (both versions), Electro, Venom, Sandman, Rhino, Doc Ock, and the Lizard are all presented here. Also, the concept art below looks like some tentacles and wings (Vulture and Doc Ock); not to mention the head-in-a-jar is pretty creepy which looks like Chris Cooper’s Norman Osborn (who died in the last movie).

Sony and Marc Webb have yet to confirm which six villains will make up THE SINISTER SIX; there was a dropped post-credits scene suggesting Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Rhino, Vulture, Kraven the Hunter, and Mysterio would make it up, but anything can change these days with the franchise.

What’s your dream team made of for the six?

Drew Goddard ‘s THE SINISTER SIX arrives in theaters November 11, 2016.
