I’m not as gung-ho about Joe Lynch’s WRONG TURN 2 as many others are (for me it’s just an average direct-to-DVD sequel without much merit), but I do appreciate Lynch as a personality and think he’s got some tricks up his sleeve. One such trick – or is it a treat? – is KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM, which has a fun premise and a solid, geek-friendly cast. Last week brought us the first official still from the fantasy/comedy/horror flick, and today brings us a new one. Both are Peter Dinklage-filled… not that there’s anything wrong with that. (The other fellow is “True Blood” star Ryan Kwanten.)
Live Action Role Players must become the heroes they’ve been pretending to be when they accidentally summon a demonic force for real.
The one thing I’m concerned about with KNIGHTS is that it’ll be a MY NAME IS BRUCE clone. That movie too brought the fantastic face-to-face with a dude who was used to playing make-believe but was completely unprepared for a real threat. It had good intentions but it really fell flat, despite Bruce’s best efforts. I hope KNIGHTS is the genuine article.
The film stars Steve Zahn, Ryan Kwanten, Summer Glau, Peter Dinklage, Margarita Levieva and Jimmi Simpson. It doesn’t have a release date as of yet, but let’s just wait and see. Maybe a preview at this summer’s Comic Con is in the offing?
