We haven’t seen nor heard much from Park Chan-Wook’s vampire flick THIRST for awhile, and there’s nothing better than a lull in the news on a flick than the revelation of a brand spankin’ new image!
Looks like THIRST has finally wrapped filming, with pre-production looking to take hold for a likely 2009 release. Awesome–about flippin’ time!
Since it’s been awhile, here’s a recap of what THIRST is all about: Beloved and devoted priest from a small town volunteers for a medical experiment which fails and turns him into a vampire. Physical and psychological changes lead to his affair with a wife of his childhood friend who is repressed and tired of her mundane life. The one-time priest falls deeper in despair and depravity. As things turns for worse, he struggles to maintain whats left of his humanity.
THE HOST‘s Song Kang-ho stars as the said priest who accidently turns into a vampire. I ain’t gonna lie to ya, the premise sounds cool, and the fact that it’s coming from the dude who gave us OLDBOY is making the anticipation for this thing almost to the boiling point.
