The GODZILLA trailer you’ve been waiting for is here!

Well, at least a kickass GODZILLA trailer at that. If you’re hoping for a full reveal, well, you’ll still have to hold out as Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures are holding the giant lizard close to the chest, but we still get to see more than we have so far. The scale and size of the film looks beyond epic with a sense of dread and destruction to match the hype of what is one of the most anticipated flicks of 2014.

Check it out:

Here’s the synopsis:

An epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.

I love what director Gareth Edwards has done here. For all the complaints about doing GODZILLA justice, I feel like this is the one to finally nail it. It’s still early on and I love that they aren’t giving it all away. It’s a satisfying show, for sure, but I’m left hungry for more. That’s the way you do it.

GODZILLA, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston, David Strathairn, Juliette Binoche, and Ken Watanabe stomps into theaters on May 16, 2014.
