New TV spot for The Conjuring spinoff Annabelle, starring Annabelle Wallis

Every evil has an origin, and next month we'll learn the terrifying origins of ANNABELLE, the creepy doll that inspired nightmares with her appearance in THE CONJURING. Now we have a new TV spot for the October 3 release, and while things may have 'started out small' they certainly gain frightening momentum here.

We just learned that the MPAA slapped ANNABELLE with an R-rating for "intense sequences of violence and terror" (nice!), and this TV spot is evidence enough that we could be in for a creepy good time with that evil little doll. John R. Leonetti, who served as cinematographer on THE CONJURING, is directing.

“John Form thinks he’s found the perfect gift for his expectant wife, Mia—a beautiful, rare vintage doll in a pure white wedding dress. But Mia’s delight with Annabelle doesn’t last long.

On one horrific night, their home is invaded by members of a satanic cult, who violently attack the couple. Spilled blood and terror are not all they leave behind. The cultists have conjured an entity so malevolent that nothing they did will compare to the sinister conduit to the damned that is now…Annabelle.”

Annabelle Wallis (X-MEN: FIRST CLASS), Ward Horton (THE WOLF OF WALL STREET), Alfre Woodard (TWELVE YEARS A SLAVE), Kerry O’Malley (TV’s “Those Who Kill), Brian Howe (Devil’s Knot), Tony Amendola (TV’s “Once Upon A Time), and Eric Ladin (TV’s “Boardwalk Empire,) star.

Look for ANNABELLE to haunt theaters on October 3.
