Just a couple weeks ago we were treated to a brand new one-sheet for Daniel Barnz’s BEASTLY. It actually wasn’t that bad either… I was digging it. Dare I even say I’m digging this flick?
Whoa, allow me to explain! I’ve lucked out the past few years, being able to live my life without much of that HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL garbage popping up. And by ‘without much’ I mean I’d watch the flicks at least four times a week. Each. Alright, I’m joking. Heh heh… Anyway… No seriously, the reason I’m somewhat looking forward to BEASTLY is for one reason and one reason only: Neal Patrick f*cking Harris. It’s hard to beleive NPH would even dream of touching a project without there being some sort of potential… right?
I think the major problem BEASTLY has is that it can’t decide whether it wants to aim for that TWI-crowd or slide more towards a subtle dark story. Unfortunately my money’s on the TWI-crowd. Damn. Enough rambling though, let’s get to the goods!
Today a brand new still for BEASTLY has popped up over at MTV’s Hollywood Crush section. Nothing too extraordinary but we do get a shot of stars Vanessa Hudgens and Alex Pettyfer! And it’s Pettyfer all ‘beasty-ed’ out! Natch. Scope out the still below and click through to check out a larger shot.
BEASTLY is a modern-day take on the “Beauty and the Beast” tale where a New York teen is transformed into a hideous monster in order to find true love.
Along with Neil Patrick Harris, Hudgens (below) and Pettyfer the flick also stars Peter Kraus, Mary-Kate Olsen, Dakota Johnson, Lisa Gay Hamilton, Gio Perez and Erik Knudson. Weird seeing Mary-Kate without Ashley… even after all these years. BEASTLY hits theaters on July 30th!
