Nicolas Cage and Gina Gershon are set to star in director Jonathan Baker's thriller INCONCEIVABLE, which is scheduled to start filming next month.

Written by Chloe King, INCONCEIVABLE tells the following story:

When Katie moves to town with her young daughter in order to start a new life after enduring abuse in her past, she quickly befriends another mother, Angela, and her husband Brian. Angela notices odd behavior from Katie and begins to question whether Katie’s intentions are as innocent as she makes them out to be, or if something dark is lurking beneath the surface.

Sounds like this could be the makings of something along the lines of THE HAND THAT ROCKS THE CRADLE. Baker promises that "This film will change the way all mothers look at their nannies." If all those celebrity cheating scandals haven't already caused such a change, I'm not sure what would.

The mysterious Katie will be played by Nicky Whelan (pictured below), with Gershon and Cage as Angela and Brian. The cast also includes Natalie Eva Marie and Faye Dunaway.

INCONCEIVABLE is being produced by Randall Emmett and George Furla of Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films, along with Baker and Daniel Herther of Baker Entertainment. Cage has previously worked with Emmett and/or Furla on THE WICKER MAN, BAD LIEUTENANT: PORT OF CALL NEW ORLEANS, THE FROZEN GROUND, and the upcoming film SOUTHERN FURY.

Lionsgate Premiere will be releasing the film in the United States, with Highland Film Group handling international sales.
