Nicolas Cage may voice Spider-Man Noir in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

We all know that Nicolas Cage is a huge comic-book fan, and it seems that the actor may have another superhero role in his future. First reported by Discussing Film (and later backed up by Collider), Cage may be joining the cast of SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE as…Spider-Man. The upcoming animated flick already boasts several Spider-Men (as well as Spider-Gwen) as it introduces Miles Morales to a shared multi-verse occupied by many characters who share the mantle of Spider-Man.

Nicolas Cage is said to be voicing Spider-Man Noir, an alternate take on the character whose adventures take place during the Great Depression. Here's Wikipedia with more:

In this reality, Peter Parker is an inexperienced yet idealistic apprentice of a respected yet troubled reporter, who is accidentally bitten by a illegally imported and highly venomous spider, while secretly investigating a smuggling ring of ancient spider statues, but instead of killing him, the incident imbues him with super-human abilities, similar to that of a spider. Using advantage of his new abilities, Parker begins to wage a one-man war against the criminal underworld in New York City as a brutal and feared vigilante, known as the "Spider-Man", partly to avenge the death of his uncle: Ben Parker, at the hands of the city's major crime lord: Norman Osborn.

Spider-Man Noir won't be the only hero who Nicolas Cage will be voicing this year, as he's also playing Superman in TEEN TITANS GO! TO THE MOVIES on July 27th. Will there be any more surprise Spider-Men in SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE? I suppose we'll have to wait and see.
