Scream Factory announces the 4K Steelbook Edition for Night of the Comet

The End of the World

1984, the year of many interests and fears for Americans, from fears of a nuclear attack still remaining to a love-hate relationship with consumerism, American films explored teenage life in all its aspects. Some of these films were more memorable and on point for life and fears of the American teenager from living in the valley in Valley Girl, survival like Red Dawn and The Zero Boys, and a whole lot more; the mid-1980s were filled with teen cinema, and some of it was definitely on the dark side. Night of the Comet (get it HERE) was definitely on the bleaker side of things while mixing teenage life, consumerism, potential alien invasion, mutation, and evil scientists; this film had it all. It also had one banging soundtrack. For 1984 that is.

Shout Factory’s 4K Steelbook

Bluray.com has passed along the news of upcoming releases from Scream Factory and Shout Factory. The description reads, “It’s the first comet to buzz the planet in 65 million years, and everyone seems to be celebrating its imminent arrival. Everyone, that is, except Regina Belmont (Catherine Mary Stewart, The Last Starfighter) and her younger sister Samantha (Kelli Maroney, Chopping Mall), two Valley Girls who care more about fashion trends than the celestial phenomenon. But upon daybreak, when the girls discover that they’re the only residents of Los Angeles whom the comet hasn’t vaporized or turned into a zombie, they do what all good Valley Girls do…they go shopping! But when their day of malling threatens to become a day of mauling, these gals flee with killer zombies and blood-seeking scientists in hot pursuit!”
