From what I’ve heard, PREDATORS is really cool. Not trying to get your hopes up, because lord knows we’ve all been burned by raised expectations before, but the people I know who have seen it are saying good things. I don’t think I’ll get to see it until it opens next week, but I’m going in with some real hope…
If all turns out well, this won’t be the final nail in the PREDATOR franchise’s coffin. In an interview with The Playlist, director Nimrod Antal reveals that there’s already been sequel talk. (Hopefully this doesn’t count as a spoiler.)
“Yeah. Well, listen, I’m down. Are you?”
Pushed further, Antal admits that there’s been some discussion in regards to a follow-up. “Yes. Between Robert [Rodriguez ]and I, but no one else so far. We’ll see what happens this next weekend.”
Naturally, if the flick does well, then Fox and Robert Rodriguez would be very swayed indeed to create another PREDATOR movie… And with another ALIEN flick on the horizon, does it seem crazy to wonder if we’ll get another, proper ALIEN VS. PREDATOR movie?
As for what’s next on Antal’s slate, he revealed that he’s got something a little more unique in store. called PARIFFIN, the project seems to be something of an end-of-the-world drama.
“I can give you a teaser: men and women will build a boat out of plastic bottles in Cuba to escape oppression, right? So imagine if our world has become that [kind of] oppression. You aren’t building plastic bottle boats anymore, you have to build something else to get out of here.”
Dunno what to think about that, but sounds pretty engaging. For the full interview with Antal, head on over HERE.
