A little over a month ago was the last time we got an update regarding Jonah Loop’s DEATHGAMES, the uber-violent flick we’ve been telling you about that echoes films like DEATH RACE.
What we know about the film is that it’s coming from first-time director Jonah Loop and it’s already got a pretty impressive cast that includes Kellan Lutz, Samuel L. Jackson and Daniel Dae Kim. We’ve even got a rundown of the synopsis:
The story centers on a young man who is kidnapped and forced into the savage world of a modern gladiator arena, where men fight to the death for entertainment of the online masses. Another man orchestrates the games, overseeing them from his computer lair with the help of twin ladies who see to his every desire.
Now that’s enough to wet your lips, but we want more! Where’s the hotties man? A flick like this should be scoring a couple of gorgeous actresses to top things off, don’t you think? Well today Loop and company have taken a step in the right direction with the casting of “Vampire Diares” hottie Nina Dobrev! But that’s not all! Joining Dobrev as the newest names to join DEATHGAMES are Derek ‘Jason Voorhees’ Mears and James ‘Ajax’ Remar! Derek Mears has been nothing short of awesome since jumping into the genre spotlight when he put on that hockey mask and James Remar is… well James f*cking Remar! The guy can do no wrong.
Dobrev (below) will be playing Lutz’s character’s wife in the film while Remar (above) steps in as ‘a mysterious character named Tall Man’ and Mears rounds it all out as a fighter named ‘Brutus Jackson.’
