No Avary in SH2

One of the most underrated trips to come out in 2006 (in my useless opinion) was SILENT HILL, from director Christophe Gans. I loved the visuals, the story was crazy bizarre, and the little girl was creepy as f*ck. Add it all together, throw in badass Sean Bean, and you have yourself one true and blue video game adaptation, keeping as close to the game as possible.

Written by Roger Avary, he who brought PULP FICTION and THE RULES OF ATTRACTION to life (among others), was also behind HILL (maybe that’s why it was so good? Maybe.). STYD had a chance to chat with Avery on the set of the upcoming BEOWULF, and found out an interesting tid bit about a possibility of a SILENT HILL 2.

Not that there was any plans or talks about doing a SILENT HILL 2 (especially since HILL was slammed by most, and didn’t break too many b.o. records), but if there are talks in the future, looks like we can count both Gans and Avery out. I thought HILL was great, but I don’t think it warranted a sequel, so I gotta give it up for these guys knowing well enough to leave alone. Good call!
