All hail COBRA!
When I was a kid, I had every single G.I. Joe toy. I loved the Cobra Commander and Destro action figures and often favored the crazy villain toys over the hero Joes. There is always something more alluring in the dark side of things that draws you in. Even seeing the bad guy lose, we want it to be a cool bad guy.
As part of the marketing blitz for G.I. JOE: RETALIATION, there is a new online game that puts you in the position to be recruited for COBRA Special Forces. The website is designed as a visual, memory, and pattern recognition test. I missed a few answers but ended up with the rank of VIPER. The game allows you the ability to retake the test to increase your rank. But, the best way to get to the top level is to recruit more people via Facebook.
Sure, this is a marketing tactic to sell G.I. JOE: RETALIATION, but it is a pretty cool one. Not only do you sharpen your memory with some brain exercises, but you get a nice membership in a cabal of evil and villainy! Who can say no to that?
