Today Bloody-Disgusting got word from one of their insider spies that the planned remake has bit the bullet and has stopped altogether. To put it their way: “Sadly, it seems like things are at a standstill because of rights issues.”
To keep in mind, this is still chalked up as a rumour, as nothing official has been announced by the studios, but BD insiders have been known to speak the truth, so it’s very likely this will turn out to be true- but lets hold our breathe on the news until things become ‘official’.
In a way, I thought I’d be happy about this- the end of a remake of one of my favourite movies. But, to tell you the truth, I find myself a little bummed out and disapointed that it might not happen. I guess it’s my yearning to see Jason kill again on the big screen that had me have high hopes, and now… nothing. Dang.
