No Time To Die director hosts a BTS featurette for Craig’s final turn as 007

After joining the James Bond franchise is 2006 for director Martin Campbell's CASINO ROYALE, Daniel Craig is finally ready unclasp his cuff links and retire from the iconic character's high stakes lifestyle once and for all. It's the end of an era for sure, though in a new featurette for NO TIME TO DIE, director Cary Joji Fukunaga assures us that Craig's final turn as the British intelligence superspy will have him going out with quite the bang.

"We aimed to do something extraordinary with this one," Fukunaga says about his Bond film in the new featurette. "For me, as a writer and a director, it was essential to rediscover Bond. Where is he? After five years of retirement, who has he become? He's sort of a wounded animal, struggling with his role as a double-oh. The world's changed. The rules of engagement aren't what they used to be. The rules of espionage are darker in this era. The people close to Bond, those he considers to be family, are at great risk. And now there's someone new out there, who's more dangerous than anyone he's ever encountered."

In NO TIME TO DIE, Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

Directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, from a script penned by Neal Purvis & Robert Wade, and Cary Joji Fukunaga and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, NO TIME TO DIE stars Daniel Craig, Rami Malek, Léa Seydoux, Lashana Lynch, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, with Jeffrey Wright, with Christoph Waltz and Ralph Fiennes as "M". Also starring are Rory Kinnear, Ana de Armas, Dali Benssalah, David Dencik, and Billy Magnussen.

In addition to the new featurette, MGM also debuted two new posters for the upcoming film, both of which feature Bond in action, be it while ripping through the dirt on a snazzy motorcycle or beside his co-star, Léa Seydoux, inside a bullet-riddled Bondmobile.

NO TIME TO DIE will blast into theaters on April 2nd.
