25 years after the publication of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, German director F.W. Murnau made an unauthorized cinematic adaptation of the story – the result being the silent film Nosferatu, one of the most highly respected horror movies of all time. If were up to Stoker’s widow, we wouldn’t have the chance to watch Nosferatu, as she obtained a court order to have all existing copies destroyed. Thankfully, a few slipped through the cracks and the movie is still available. 2022 marks the 100th anniversary of the Nosferatu, and as part of the celebration, Eureka Video will do a re-release of the film in cinemas throughout the UK and Ireland, and a trailer for this event can be seen in the embed above.
The press release says “a decades-long search for the best surviving material and a re-recording of the original score by Hans Erdmann now allows us to see the film exactly as it premiered 100 years ago.” Here’s the current list of participating cinemas:

Scripted by Henrik Galeen, Nosferatu has the following synopsis:
In this highly influential silent horror film, the mysterious Count Orlok summons Thomas Hutter to his remote Transylvanian castle in the mountains. The eerie Orlok seeks to buy a house near Hutter and his wife, Ellen. After Orlok reveals his vampire nature, Hutter struggles to escape the castle, knowing that Ellen is in grave danger. Meanwhile Orlok’s servant, Knock, prepares for his master to arrive at his new home.
