With DAYBREAKERS already in theaters, and BOOK OF ELI out this weekend, one flick we still have to look forward to this month is Scott Stewart’s strangers-in-a-diner-must-fend-off-demonic-angels outing, LEGION. Well, we’ve got a tight little clip from the flick entitled “Now What,” in which Tyrese Gibson’s character becomes duped by an odious little bastard (get at it underneath!)
With each new clip we see from the flick, the more torn I become. On one hand, seeing an arsenal of high powered weaponry against angels is pretty interesting, but I dunno, something tells me the tone of the picture may be far too serious to have a legitimate good time. Straddling the fence between camp and earnestness seems the biggest challenge on this particular story.
As the official synopsis goes: An out-of-the-way diner becomes the unlikely battleground for the survival of the human race. When God loses faith in humankind, he sends his legion of angels to bring on the Apocalypse. Humanity’s only hope lies in a group of strangers trapped in a desert diner with the Archangel Michael (Paul Bettany).
Quaid under fire is always amusing, and this time he’ll be fighting back with Adrianne Palicki, Lucas Black, Willa Holland, Charles S. Dutton, Kevin Durand, Doug Jones, Kate Walsh, Danielle Lozeau and Jon Tenney.
The LEGION is coming January 22nd!
