Nuclear Snakes

It’s no big surprise that with the huge hit of Samuel L. Jackson’s summer movie blockbuster SNAKES ON A PLANE, that we’re going to see a line of rip-offs and cash-ins for the next few years either involving snakes, planes, or other scary animals on something equally as scary. I envision RATS IN AN ELEVATOR and ROACHES ON A ROLLER COASTER coming to a theater near you very soon.


Case in point is the recently announced SNAKE ATTACK, from director Jeff Burr (LEATHERFACE) and writer Domonic Muir (CRITTERS), which tales the timeless tale of a shipment of rare poisonous snakes is lost in a truck crash near a nuclear waste facility. The plot twists sinisterly when the enormous mutant snakes converge upon the movie set of a horror film featuring snakes and a famous ex-porn star.


Famous ex-porn star? Shit, that’s all you had to say! Fangoria reports that ATTACK’s still in the early stages, but it’s looking to start shooting this fall- and has an emphasis on using real snakes versus CGI snakes. I guess they’re going to be able to get a bunch of real life mutant snakes to cooperate and make this movie with them. Real snakes. Well, I hope they can pull that off… somehow…


So prepare the onslaught of SNAKE movies in the next year or so- and considering how SNAKES ON A PLANE will be the top money making film of the summer, SNAKES will probably be hot for the next century.
