While doing interviews for his upcoming post-apocalyptic epic THE DAY, director Doug Aarniokoski has revealed some new details on his next film, NURSE 3-D:
“Imagine Fatal Attraction and Black Swan and then throw it into a hospital. That’s kind of our world. It’s a world you’ve never seen before. It’s sexy, yet gritty, violent and nasty. And then it became sexy again. It’s like, “wow!” I could never quite put my finger on what the next scene was going to be when I read the script because it was so wickedly off. And then I did another pass on the script and rewrote the script myself and I took what was already there and amped it up.”
It’s that kind of movie where you’re like, “how can I portray this and get away with it?” It was about bringing it to the screen in a way that was engaging, erotic, dangerous, scary, nasty and brutal all at the same time. That was the dance for me.”
FATAL ATTRACTION meets BLACK SWAN in a hospital, eh? But with BOARDWALK EMPIRE star Paz De La Huerta seducing and destroying cheating dudes with stylish panache? I can dig what you’re selling, Doug, especially with the NSFW posters (which can be seen here and here) we’ve been privy to thus far. NURSE 3-D looks to be shaping up as the sex and gore film of the decade. That is if it doesn’t get neutered by the MPAA first.
