The Force is strong with Ewan McGregor in the first trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi

Hello there! Today, Disney+ released the Obi-Wan Kenobi trailer giving fans an exciting first look at the highly-anticipated limited series, which launches exclusively on the streaming service on May 25th.

The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.

Entertainment Weekly is releasing their final print cover before going fully digital and the cover features Ewan McGregor in character for the upcoming Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi. The cover also serves as the 41st Star Wars cover for the popular media outlet.

Entertainment Weekly is giving us the full scoop on the highly-anticipated Star Wars series, including the first episodic images from the show. They not only show the return of McGregor as Kenobi but also Joel Edgerton as Uncle Owen. We also get our first look at the franchise’s new villain in the form of a relentless Inquisitor named Reva, played by Moses Ingram! You can check out the first-look images below!

The Obi-Wan Kenobi series began shooting in April of last year and the story is set 10 years after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. In addition to Ewan McGregor returning as the titular character, the series has also been touting the return of Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader. Joining McGregor and Christensen is a truly interesting ensemble cast that includes Joel Edgerton, Moses Ingram, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie.

The Obi-Wan Kenobi series was originally announced at the D23 Expo in August of 2019. Deborah Chow is set to direct the show and will executive produce with Hossein Amini, who also wrote the series. McGregor, Kathleen Kennedy, and Tracey Seaward will also serve as executive producers on the project.
