Barbie continues riding high as the highest-grossing movie of the year ($1.4 billion), cementing Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as box-office superstars. Audiences are keen to see the pair reunite, which they’ll be doing in an Ocean’s 11 prequel.

Margot Robbie’s production company LuckyChap Entertainment is behind the Ocean’s 11 prequel, which will be directed by Jay Roach and set in 1960s Europe. We haven’t heard all that much about the project lately, but producer Josey McNamara gave a little tease to GamesRadar while speaking on the red carpet of Saltburn at the BFI London Film Festival. “I can’t really say much,” he said, “but I think we’re just trying to do right by the franchise. I’m excited for people to experience it when it’s ready.” McNamara added that he hopes there are more Margot Robbie/Ryan Gosling collaborations in future. “They’re wonderful together,” he said. “The more projects even outside of that we can have them doo would be amazing.

Given the enormous success of Barbie, one of those projects is sure to be a Barbie sequel, but it was revealed earlier this year that neither Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, nor director Greta Gerwig have deals in place for Barbie 2. The three will likely be able to negotiate some killer deals for the sequel, should they wish to return, but we likely won’t hear anything official until after the SAG-AFTRA strike has concluded.

Margot Robbie actually predicted that Barbie would gross $1 billion when she first pitched the project, although at the time she thought she had oversold it. “I think my pitch in the green-light meeting was the studios have prospered so much when they’re brave enough to pair a big idea with a visionary director,” Robbie said. “And then I gave a series of examples like, ‘dinosaurs and [Steven] Spielberg,’ that and that, that and that – pretty much naming anything that’s been incredible and made a ton of money for the studios over the years. And I was like, ‘And now you’ve got Barbie and Greta Gerwig.’ And I think I told them that it’d make a billion dollars, which maybe I was overselling, but we had a movie to make, okay?!
