That name would be regular funnyman Jerry O’Connell! O’Connell (above) is an acquired taste so you probably either know him or you don’t. He was most recently seen in OBSESSED and has been working the TV circuit the past few years. Looks like O’Connell is hoping to break back onto the movie scene with one of the potentially biggest genre flicks of next year! My favorite O’Connell flick? Easily TOMCATS. Can’t beat Jake Busey and Horatio Sanz.. well actually you can, pretty easily. But it’s still loads of fun!
So O’Connell joins Szohr, Elsabeth Shue, Richard Dreyfuss, Ving Rhames, Adam Scott, and Dina Meyer in Alex Aja’s PIRANHA 3-D. Here’s the full rundown: Jaws… lots and lots of jaws. From acclaimed director Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes) comes the new action thriller PIRANHA 3D, in the latest eye-popping 3D technology. A new type of terror is about to be cut loose on beautiful Lake Victoria. After a sudden underwater tremor sets free scores of the prehistoric man-eating fish, an unlikely group of strangers must band together to stop themselves from becoming fish food for the area’s new razor-toothed residents. But our heroine (Elisabeth Shue) is seriously outnumbered, and with only one chance to save the lake and her family from totally being devoured, she must risk everything to destroy the aquatic carnivores herself.
Shooting starts May 12th in Lake Havasu, Arizona with a March 19, 2010 release date.
