If I had to start racking off a list of most anticipated end of year films, there’s no question John Hillcoat’s adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s THE ROAD would be on there.
After-all, it does star Charlize Theron!
Seriously though, despite incessant release push-backs and production delays, there’s something highly alluring about Viggo Mortensen and son wading through an ashen, cannibal filled post-apocalyptic wasteland. Is it just me?
So it comes with great exultation that an official poster for the film has been released, this time with slightly different aesthetic. This time we have what appears to be fire and brimstone raining down in the background, Viggo and his brood drenched in rain in the fore.
Pretty fuc*in’ rad, right?
I doubt you need anymore plot details than the ones above, so let me reiterate the all-star cast Hillcoat surrounds Mortensen with. We have Bobby Duvall, Guy Pearce, Garret Dillahunt, Kdi Smit-McPhee, Molly Parker, Brenna Roth, Michael K. Williams, and the aforementioned future wife of mine, Ms. Charlize Theron.
