Official synopsis for Guy Ritchie’s Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur

Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur

Hot on the heels of yesterday's first look at Charlie Hunnam in KNIGHTS OF THE ROUNDTABLE: KING ARTHUR, Warner Bros. has released the official synopsis for the Guy Ritchie-directed movie. With the studio planning on doing six King Arthur flicks, it should come as no surprise that the first one will be an origin story.

The bold new story introduces a streetwise young Arthur who runs the back alleys of Londinium with his gang, unaware of the life he was born for until he grasps hold of the sword Excalibur—and with it, his future. Instantly challenged by the power of Excalibur, Arthur is forced to make some hard choices. Throwing in with the Resistance and a mysterious young woman named Guinevere, he must learn to master the sword, face down his demons and unite the people to defeat the tyrant Vortigern, who stole his crown and murdered his parents, and become King.

I've enjoyed most of Guy Ritchie's previous films (we don't need to talk about SWEPT AWAY) and KORT certainly has the potential to be another kick-ass film from the director. Are you interested in checking out Ritchie's take on the King Arthur legend?

KNIGHTS OF THE ROUNDTABLE: KING ARTHUR is scheduled to open on July 22, 2016.
