They grow up so fast!
I remember Sean Stone playing a little munchkin in his father’s movies back in the day, like WALL STREET and JFK (he played Michael Douglas’ son and Kevin Costner’s son, respectively), but now the tyke is a man and ready to do some directing of his own. The NY Post’s Page Six is reporting that Stone is readying SHADOWLAND, which he’ll direct and star in. Oliver will also apparently star, as his father, natch.
SHADOWLAND is described as a “BLAIR WITCH-like movie about the mental hospital where Rosemary Kennedy was lobotomized.” If that doesn’t ring any bells, Rosemary Kennedy was the daughter of Joe, sister of John and Robert, and was one of the first people to have a lobotomy, a procedure that was to cure her violent mood swings and strange behavior. Sadly, the desired effect was not achieved, and Rosemary was left severely disabled.
Now, I’m not sure if any of that history is pertinent to the film Stone is preparing, but in any event, it should be interesting to see what he’s got cooking. (And how far the apple has fallen from the tree.) Monique van Vooren (FLESH FOR FRANKENSTEIN, pictured below) will have a role in SHADOWLAND.
