But perhaps most importantly (at least to my interests) is supersexy Olivia Wilde, who will be playing “a tattooed stripper with a Betty Page hairdo”, a role which was originally offered to Kate Hudson before we made out with this superior casting.
The story follows a number of competitive characters in a small Midwestern town as they become entwined in an annual butter-carving contest. Also, it’s a satire of the Clinton/Obama showdown in the 2008 Democratic Primary. Obviously.
Wilde, who we’ll be seeing in upcoming larger fare like TRON LEGACY and COWBOYS & ALIENS, plays the mistress to a term-limited butter-carving champion (Burrell), with Garner as his Hillaryous wife.
The script by Jason Micalleff was on the Black List of the best unproduced screenplays, and Jim Field Smith (SHE’S OUT OF MY LEAGUE) is directing. The movie is coming from the Weinstein Company, which means there’s no way of knowing when you’ll actually see it, or what kind of shape it’ll be in when you do. Speaking of shape…
