Once Upon a Time in Hollywood gets a new poster with vintage style

Quentin Tarantino’s latest, ONCE UPON A TIME IN…HOLLYWOOD, screened at Cannes last month and was met with rave reviews, signaling another hit for the filmmaker. On the promotion front, the trailers have been hitting it out of the park, but as for the posters, it’s been a different story. You know, the ones that throw stars like Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie across Photoshopped background. Well, we can forget those, as Sony has unveiled the brand new main poster which recalls an era of style.

Getting together all the main characters listed above, as well as looks at Kurt Russell, Al Pacino, Mike Moh's Bruce Lee, Damon Herriman's Charles Manson and more, the poster has a dynamic layout that makes looking for every detail a joy, an abundance of color and features a use of white space that doesn't make it all seem too crammed together.

Yes, this is much better than the bland teaser posters from before, but we probably should have expected Sony to roll something like this out closer to the release date. With a little over a month before the movie's release in theaters anticipation has been building as the first wave of reviews have started hitting the web. Standing at a solid 94% on Rotten Tomatoes, the movie is poised to rope in adult viewers tired of the big blockbusters coming out before it, and this new poster should entice audiences even more. Seriously, who would look at this poster with the three stars looking so cool and not want to see this movie?

Here's the synopsis:

Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood visits 1969 Los Angeles, where everything is changing, as TV star Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) make their way around an industry they hardly recognize anymore. The ninth film from the writer-director features a large ensemble cast and multiple storylines in a tribute to the final moments of Hollywood’s golden age.

ONCE UPON A TIME IN…HOLLYWOOD also stars Emile Hirsch, Margaret Qualley, Timothy Olyphant, Austin Butler, Dakota Fanning, Bruce Dern, Lena Dunham, Luke Perry, Damian Lewis and so many more, and is in theaters July 26.
