Entering the home stretch, THE WOLFMAN has revealed its final poster before it gets a chance to shut the mouths of all the naysayers and doubters. Been a wild ride for the film, which comes out in three weeks, but all that really matters is what the public thinks. After all, if it opens big – and I’m pretty sure it will – Universal will have something to crow about. That said, it will have to show strong legs to make back all of its money. No final figures are out there yet, but I’m sure a helluva lot was spent, before, during and after principal photography. A movie this troubled is never cheap.
Meanwhile, the new poster is certainly one of the film’s least inspired. (I’m kind of partial to this one myself.) Nothing like some floating heads to make me cringe. At least they’ve got all the credits figured out, with Danny Elfman getting official credit; same for editor Walter Murch – whom you’ll recall was only brought aboard in November to help save the flick.
In any event, looks like FEBRUARY 12th is absolutely, positively happening. No doubt about it. What could possible go wrong at this point?
