Now I’ve been aware of the original ONE MISSED CALL, even actually wanting to check it out but never getting the chance. (I will eventually I’m sure.). Well then I found out it was being remade (shocker), and I got a chance to check out the trailer. And I was sold! Like I mentioned, I haven’t seen the original, so I don’t know how much this remake is going to follow it or what-not, but the trailer really got me pumped to see it. It looks like the type of flick that’ll have me turning my head and peeking through my fingers. I’ve yet to find a movie to make me do that, so here’s hoping. Plus… it has Shannyn Sossamon.
A couple days ago Eric told you all about the new site launched for the film. Well today we’ve got some new stills from the flick for you. You can check those out above and below. ONE MISSED CALL is about a chain of people receive terrifying cell phone messages of their own final fatal moments. The actual synopsis reads:
Beth Raymond (Shannyn Sossamon) is traumatized when she witnesses the gruesome deaths of two friends just days apart. Even more disturbing, she knows that both of them had received chilling cell phone messages—actual recordings of their own horrifying last moments. Impossibly, the calls were received days before they died, but each death occurred precisely when and how the messages foretold.
The police think Beth is delusional—except for Detective Jack Andrews (Edward Burns) whose own sister was killed in a freak accident that bears a strange similarity to the deaths of Beth’s friends. Together, Jack and Beth work feverishly to unravel the mystery behind the ominous calls. But even as they get closer to the truth, Beth’s cell phone begins to ring with an eerie tune, and the readout says One Missed Call
The film stars the always beautiful Shannyn Sossamon (below), Edward Burns, Ana Claudia Talancón, Ray Wise and Azura Skye. It’s written by Andrew Klavan and directed by Eric Valette. Regardless of the PG-13 rating, I’m looking forward to this one. It’s set to hit theaters in less than a month, January 4, 2008. We’ll keep you updated.
