Yesterday Niki brought you a very brief 35 second clip from SUPER 8, a film that she rightly notes has been ultra-stringy doling out any new content to preserve the mystery of the film.
But today I have my own clip to premiere, one that takes places more or less one second after yesterday’s, and I can’t quite figure out why they weren’t just released as one minute long segment. I guess we’re giving it double the press, so mission accomplished. It’s an extension of the train blowing up sequence we’ve seen before, but with a few new angles.
I don’t quite get the point of these clips as they aren’t really showing anything new, and I guess the film’s marketing campaign is just to keep things as tightly wrapped as possible. But I’m not quite as interested as I was when say, CLOVERFIELD’s viral campaign was in full swing. That said, I’m sure this will be a great film.
