Operation Fortune trailer confirms the theatrical release of Guy Ritchie’s next action comedy thriller

Lionsgate is hitting Monday hard with its Operation Fortune trailer, giving us all a great look at Guy Ritchie’s upcoming action comedy thriller. The new promo is ready to take your breath away by having you run at top speed or laugh yourself silly. The footage drops as many jokes as it does bodies while keeping the action at a break-neck pace. Moreover, Operation Fortune: Russe De Guerre is getting a theatrical release!

In the Operation Fortune trailer, Jason Statham’s Orson Fortune mercs a group of guards before catching a ride from Aubrey Plaza’s Sarah Fidel. The couple exchanges playful banter before moving on to their next mission, which involves blackmailing Josh Hartnett’s Danny Francesco to get close to Hugh Grant’s mysterious billionaire arms dealer Greg Simmonds.

Here’s the official synopsis for Operation Fortune: Ruse De Guerre:

In the film, super spy Orson Fortune (Jason Statham) must track down and stop the sale of a deadly new weapons technology wielded by billionaire arms broker Greg Simmonds (Hugh Grant). Reluctantly teamed with some of the world’s best operatives (Aubrey Plaza, Cary Elwes, Bugzy Malone), Fortune and his crew recruit Hollywood’s biggest movie star Danny Francesco (Josh Hartnett), to help them on their globe-trotting undercover mission to save the world.

Operation Fortune was initially supposed to receive a theatrical release from STX Entertainment in January last year. But it was delayed while STX merged with Eros International plc., and was later bought out by Najafi Companies – after Lionsgate considered buying the company, but then dropped out of the running. Lionsgate had also considered releasing Operation Fortune in U.S. theatres, but in the last update, we heard it would likely be heading for a streaming release. However, the plan is to release Operation Fortune: Ruse De Guerre in theaters on March 3, 2023. This news is fantastic, given that balls-to-the-wall action films always play better on the silver screen.

What do you think about the new Operation Fortune trailer? Are you excited about Ritchie’s new film coming to theaters? With Statham, Plaza, Elwes, Hartnett, Malone, and Grant leading this uproarious bullet-chewing comedy, Ritchie is in his element. In the comments below, let us know if you’re looking forward to Operation Fortune: Russe De Guerre.
