Original cinematographer reshoots Elm Street 3 sequence on iPhone

Apple recently released the iPhone 11 Pro, and what better way could there to be to test the new phone's video shooting capabilities than to have A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 3: DREAM WARRIORS cinematographer Roy Wagner use it to reshoot a sequence from that classic film?

A production of VideoVillage.Pro, Moai Films, and Global Village, Inc., this experimental recreation can be seen below.

Freddy Krueger meets the iPhone11 Pro!  Check out the final re-creation of a scene from Nightmare on Elm Street: Dream Warriors.   Shot entirely on the iPhone 11 Pro, Roy H. Wagner ASC and Shane Kelly – the original Director of Photography and Gaffer for the iconic Halloween film, Nightmare on Elm Street: Dream Warriors – and an all-star crew directed by Lukas Colombo, re-created a chilling scene from the 1987 film using an Apple iPhone11Pro.   How far has technology come in 30 years?  In the hands of a cinematography legend, can a new iPhone 11 Pro compare to a film camera?   What do you think?  Take a look and let us know what you think in the comments!

After the scene plays out as shot on the iPhone, the video also shows a side-by-side comparison of the new footage and the original footage from the 1987 film. It is very cool to see how they match up.

Directed, as the description mentions, by Lukas Colombo, the recreation takes a scene from the very beginning of DREAM WARRIORS and drops Taylor Kalupa, Charley Kendrick Fagerlind, and John Liverance in the roles of Kristen Parker, Little Girl, and Freddy Krueger.

If you have $999 to spare, you can order an iPhone 11 Pro of your own right HERE. It's a bit cheaper to score a copy of DREAM WARRIORS.
